LET'S PLAY - guess our baby's stats!

The winner gets a prize and instant fame when I post their name on the blog post-baby's-birth. We can't exactly do a cash pool since people are scattered everywhere, but I'll think of a little prize for the best guesser. Anyway, if you're the betting type, please leave a comment on this blog entry with your predictions:
--------------------
GENDER
DATE OF BIRTH (due on 1/28/08)
WEIGHT
DATE OF BIRTH (due on 1/28/08)
WEIGHT
INCHES (length)
--------------------
*There will be one winner and we'll break any ties by going through these predictions in descending order - first by gender, then by DOB, then weight and inches. (Not that I think there will be 5,238 voters or anything!)
--------------------
*To make your prediction click on the "comments" link at the bottom of this post. If you are not a blogger, you can click on "Nickname" under "Choose an Identity"
--------------------
*Betting closes at the exact moment of birth. I'll have a laptop with me and close the post for comments just as soon as I give that final push. I'm obviously joking.

Doesn't this look really official? Hehe.

Here are Maggie's predictions (not that I can win). Joel does not agree with me in the most important category - gender:
-Girl
-February 2nd, 2008
-February 2nd, 2008
-8 pounds, 1 ounce
-20 inches
25 comments:
Boy
Feb 29
14lbs 2oz
14 inches
Pedro is Joel, by the way. He apparently thinks that we're going to have an incredibly short, grotesquely obese Leap Year Baby.
Oh, and here were Marie's stats at birth:
3 days late (induced)
8lb 4.75oz
19 1/2 inches
Boy
1/27/08
7 lbs, 5 oz
20 & 1/2 inches
Girl
Feb 1
19in
7lb 9oz
Joel might be close, but I'll challenge him:
Boy
February 4, 2008
8.3 pounds
19.5 inches
I'm a betting man.....
Boy
Feb 3rd
7lbs 14oz
20.5"
Zac (Tasha's wife) from Las Vegas!
Boy
Feb 9
8 lbs 6 oz.
21"
Boy
Feb 7th
8 lb 3oz
21 inches
Girl
January 31st
7lbs 10oz
20 inches
Boy
Feb 1
8lbs 1oz
20"
If I win, do I get to keep him? That seems fair.
Girl
Jan 30
7 lbs 11 oz
19 inches
Girl
Jan. 29
8lbs 7 oz.
20 in.
Let's see, this should be easy:
Male
1/29 (our due date)
7 lbs 18 oz (what?)
53 centimeters (you're traveling to Europe soon, right?)
And the ultimate pick, the name:
Dylan Jacob Meehan
Boy
Jan 31
8 lb 9oz
20 inches long
I'm really laughing and your and Pedro-Joel's post
Girl
January 26
8 pounds, 2 oz
19.5 inches
Humperdink?! :)
Checking in with a girl on Jan. 25.
Weight: 7 lbs. 7 oz.
Length: 19 inches
Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Since the ante has been upped, I'm guessing Henry, Owen, Malachy (sp?), or Phillip for boy names. On the off chance I'm wrong, I'm guessing Josephine, Miranda, or Hannah for girl names. No clue about the middle name though...
Does Marie understand about the baby? She's probably excited for Christmas! Are there any ornaments left on the tree?
Wow, Adrienne, I'm actually quite impressed with your list of names. Henry "Hank" was our first-runner-up for a boy's name. And I LOVE the name Philip, but it didn't make the list for this kiddo. The girl list is really pretty, too, but none of those are in the top 4. Joel is actually in charge of picking the girl's name from our top 4 list - and he's keeping it a surprise (even from me).
Marie sort of "understands" that there is a baby in mommy's tummy, and that the baby has his/her own room. She loves babies in general, I'm just not sure how much she's going to love sharing mommy and daddy with a baby!
Thanks for your guesses! They really are fun for us to read!
Love,
Maggie
girl (Carlita or Carmela)
1/30/08
7lbs 10oz
17 3/4 in
Now I get the Pedro stuff and the 14 lbs 14" conversation. I was clueless while you were here.
Someone needs to get Gpa Ralph's guess down since he claims to be 4/4 on gender for the first four grandkids. I will guess whatever he's gussing except one day later since I am never right.
I think it's going to be a girl. February 5. 8 pounds. 20 inches.
I say it's a girl. January 26. 6 pounds, 8 ounces. 19 inches.
I'm going to say boy...7 lbs. 7oz. (perfect/perfect). Born February 2...Ground Hog Day. Wouldn't that be cute?
